For Captain Red

My character poems continue with one of my favorites. He was such fun to write in both the book and the poem I just finished. Enjoy!!!

                                                             Man of the Sea.

Since his days in a crib
                                                         And his first little steps,
He was called by the sea's
                                                         Salted, whispering breath,
                                                         The sea bewitching blue,
                                                         Waves rolling and tumbling hypnoticly,
                                                         Licking the sands wholeheartedly.

In a ship black as midnight,
He sails into the setting sun's light.
                                                         Carrying a sword for swashbuckling
And hefting greed on his back.

                                                         He sings with the dolphins,
                                                         Gaggles with the gulls,
And is as untamable as a roaring
                                                        Hurricane.
                                                        Once you've met him,
You'll never forget the name Captain Red
